Where is Korea’s Largest White Buckwheat Flower & Loess Trail Opening?

DK Asia announced on the 15th that it will open the “Geomdan Buckwheat Flower & Loess Trail” at Royal Park City II in New Geomdan. The newly created trail spans approximately 138,000㎡ (40,000 pyeong), making it the largest of its kind in Korea. This is the first residential complex in the country to combine both buckwheat flower fields and a loess walking trail.

The Loess Trail consists of five courses, labeled A through E, extending more than 4.0 km in total length to 4.5 km. It has been designed to offer diverse paths and landscapes. Even after rainfall, the loess does not stick to bare feet, ensuring a pleasant walking experience while still providing the soft, warm texture unique to loess. In addition, Korea’s largest foot-washing station—capable of accommodating over 30 people at once—has also been installed.

Notably, DK Asia plans to plant 1,500 maple trees along Course E, where buckwheat flowers will bloom together. Around 80% of the greenery is composed of evergreen species such as Photinia, Euonymus, Golden Euonymus, Blue Angel, Juniper, and Boxwood, ensuring a lush, green landscape throughout all four seasons. To celebrate the opening, a special event will be held from September 20 to October 31. On September 27, the “2025 Royal Garden Festival” special concert, one of Incheon’s representative cultural events, will also take place.

Kim Jeong-mo, Chairman of DK Asia, stated, “Through the first-ever ‘Geomdan Buckwheat Flower & Loess Trail,’ which uniquely combines buckwheat flower fields and loess paths, we will further develop Royal Park City into Incheon’s premier urban healing hotspot.” Furthermore, DK Asia plans to expand the project through Royal Park City III (1.1 million㎡, 330,000 pyeong) and Royal Park City V (506,000㎡, 150,000 pyeong), creating Korea’s largest and longest 12km “Buckwheat Flower & Loess Thirty-li Trail,” complete with a maple tree tunnel. The Geomdan Buckwheat Flower & Loess Trail, along with the Royal Garden Festival, is expected to grow into one of Incheon’s signature cultural attractions.
